What is Convoy for a Cure?
Convoy for a Cure is a convoy celebrating women in the trucking industry.
How did Convoy for a Cure get Started?
Rachele Champagne had the idea to celebrate women drivers in the trucking industry. She thought that there was no better way to do that than by supporting a great cause. She held the first ever all female truck convoy on October 18, 2008 from Cornwall ON to Cardinal ON. It was a huge success. Together the ladies raised $15,000 for breast cancer research!
On October 1, 2011, the 3rd Annual Alberta Convoy for a Cure welcomed several enthusiastic men to join the ladies in raising money and awareness for Breast Cancer. In total, we had 17 participants and raised over $16,000.00 for the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation.
This year, we want to DOUBLE those numbers! Mark Saturday, October 6, 2012 on your calendars!
We are welcoming men to join us again this year! Gather up some BRAS, Pink Stuff and other decorations!
